About BHS Retractables & Outdoor Spaces

Founded in 2014 by father-and-son duo Rodney and Chris Brandon, BHS Retractables + Outdoor Spaces was built on a simple realization: the barrier between your home and nature should be invisible.

With over 30 years of remodeling and design expertise, Rodney saw the potential for retractable screens to transform how we experience our homes—allowing for fresh air and views without the intrusion of pests or the elements. What started as a focused father-son team has grown into a premier destination for custom outdoor living. Today, we have evolved beyond screens into a full-service outdoor living company.

Based in Mundelein, IL, our family-owned operation crafts everything from four-season structures to luxury outdoor atmospheres. We believe that your best memories are often made outside. We don’t just build spaces; we create timeless environments where your home and the world around it blend in perfect harmony.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The folks at BHS did a phenomenal job installing a retractable screen on our new front entry door. The installers were prompt, friendly, worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves as if no work had been done there at all. The screen has a low profile when closed so that my new front entry door gets all the attention. When using the screen, it operates smoothly and looks great with a high quality mesh screen. I highly recommend BHS.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had my retractable screen installed on my front door. It’s amazing you can’t tell that it’s there and even when opened it’s very discrete and functional. Very pleased!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Better than we had hoped! Insects are not a problem where our two screens were installed. Airborne dust, Maple "helicopters", cottonwood seeds, etc. are what we hoped to keep out of our enclosed porch areas and everything is working great! The installation is clean and beautiful. The motorized screen operation is simple. I cannot recommend BHS retractables enough. From the initial showroom visit, to the site visit at our home to the installation, everything was flawless.

Thank you!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great screen doors, like how it opens without fast retraction. Installation was excellent. Would suggest including a can of lubricant with purchase. What i do like about phantom screen is the second screen locks in place easier than BHS
